STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta Joins International Summer Program as Co-Host

Yogyakarta, August 2026 — Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Masjid Syuhada (STAI Masjid Syuhada) Yogyakarta participated as one of the Co-Hosts in the Summer Program 2026, an international academic program organized in collaboration with several higher education institutions in Indonesia and abroad. The program was held from 6–15 August 2026 and brought together academic communities through academic networking, cultural exchange, and international collaboration. The program was hosted by the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Civilization, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY).

The Summer Program 2026 carried the spirit of “Global Networking, Academic Excellence, Cultural Experience”, providing an international learning environment for students to broaden their academic perspectives, strengthen intercultural understanding, and develop global academic networks. The program featured several thematic areas, including Civilizational Communication for Peace, Islamic Education, Ethics and Civilizations (SPIEEC), and Sustainable Islamic Economy and Digital Societies (SIED).
As a Co-Host, STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta collaborated with a number of Indonesian higher education institutions, including Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMSURA), Institut Studi Islam Muhammadiyah (ISIMU) Pacitan, and STIT Ihsanul Fikri. The collaboration reflects STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta’s commitment to strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and expanding opportunities for students to engage in international academic activities.

The international collaboration also involved partners from Malaysia and other countries, including Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah (UniSHAMS), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Pimpinan Cabang Istimewa Muhammadiyah (PCIM) Australia, and PCIM Turki. The participation of these institutions and organizations strengthened the international dimension of the program and created opportunities for academic and cultural interaction across countries.

Representing STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, five students from the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Arabic Language Education (PBA) programs participated in the Summer Program. Their participation provided an opportunity to experience international academic activities directly, interact with students and academics from different institutions and countries, and develop broader perspectives on Islamic education, civilization, communication, and contemporary global issues.

For STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, participation in the Summer Program is more than an international academic activity. It is part of the institution’s efforts to prepare students with global competencies, intercultural communication skills, academic confidence, and collaborative abilities that are increasingly important in the contemporary higher education landscape. Through its role as a Co-Host and its student participation, STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta continues to strengthen its commitment to internationalization, academic collaboration, and student development, while expanding its institutional network both nationally and internationally.

STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta is committed to making international collaboration an integral part of its academic development and to creating wider opportunities for students to learn, connect, and contribute in the global academic community.
