Discussing Islamic Educational Leadership in the Digital Era
Yogyakarta, September 24, 2026 — Dr. Moh. Solikul Hadi, M.Pd., a lecturer at STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, was invited to serve as Speaker 3 at an International Webinar organized by the Graduate Program in Islamic Education Management at Institut Agama Islam (IAI) Al-Hikmah Lampung on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The international academic forum was held online via Zoom under the theme:
“Islamic Educational Leadership in the Digital Era: Strategies for Building Excellent, Adaptive, and Competitive Educational Institutions.”
The webinar brought together academics and education professionals from Indonesia and Malaysia to discuss the challenges and strategic approaches to Islamic educational leadership amid rapid technological development and digital transformation. Representing STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, Dr. Moh. Solikul Hadi, M.Pd. contributed his academic perspective as one of the speakers. His participation reflects the active contribution of STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta lecturers to academic forums at both national and international levels.
The webinar featured Dr. H. Aly Murtadlo, M.Pd.I., Rector of IAI Al-Hikmah Lampung, as the Keynote Speaker. The event also featured Associate Prof. Dr. Abd Razak Bin Zakaria, Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya, Malaysia, as Speaker 1, and Dr. Dwi Sugianik, M.Pd., Head of the Graduate Program in Islamic Education Management at IAI Al-Hikmah Lampung, as Speaker 2.
During the session, Dr. Moh. Solikul Hadi discussed the importance of developing Islamic educational leadership that is capable of responding to technological advancement, changing educational needs, and the growing demand for institutional quality and innovation.
The discussion emphasized that digital transformation in education is not merely about adopting new technologies. It also involves developing visionary leadership, organizational culture, innovation, adaptability, and effective educational governance while maintaining the fundamental values of Islamic education.
This issue is particularly relevant for Islamic educational institutions, which face both opportunities and challenges arising from digital transformation. Educational leaders are increasingly expected to combine managerial competence with the ability to develop innovative, adaptive, ethical, and competitive educational ecosystems. Dr. Moh. Solikul Hadi’s participation also represents an opportunity for STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta to strengthen academic networking and institutional collaboration with higher education institutions and scholars from Indonesia and other countries. For STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta, the involvement of its lecturers in international academic forums is part of the institution’s commitment to expanding academic networks, knowledge exchange, and international collaboration in the development of Islamic education.
The webinar, held from 08:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), was attended by academics, students, and education stakeholders. The event featured presentations followed by an interactive question-and-answer session addressing contemporary issues in Islamic educational leadership and management in the digital era.
Through this participation, STAI Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta continues to encourage its lecturers to contribute actively to national and international academic forums, while strengthening the institution’s role in promoting collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the advancement of Islamic education.
